CEO, Harry du Plooy, combines his love for the sewing and embroidery industries, his creativity, and 36 years of experience to bring you the best service, advice, and excellence in business. Born and raised in Springs, his interest in sewing started at an early age from watching his mother, Anna du Plooy. Her hard-working nature and love for sewing inspired him to enter the industry in 1985 and in 1987 he started his Elna Dealership in Brakpan.
Since then, his business grew from strength to strength, and he soon expanded his horizons and technical skills with Passap machines as well. He is now a well-known importer of Passap spares in South Africa.
Identifying the need for high-quality embroidery software he became the sole importer of Creative DRAWings in 2007. Software that is automatic, powerful, and a perfect match for anyone who wishes to personalize any design.
It did not stop there as he soon also realized that domestic embroidery machines no longer satisfied the market. His dream was to expand the market and in 2013 after much research, he started importing industrial embroidery machines. He soon supplied all the Elna stores in South Africa and is currently the sole importer of the Galaxy industrial embroidery machine.
His Creative DRAWings software and the various embroidery machines perfectly complement each other.
With hard work and dedication, state-of-the-art products, service excellence, and his friendly nature he built a strong platform for generations to follow. He trained many technicians and always walks the extra mile for any client.
Managing Director, Madelein du Plooy, joined the company in 2019. She soon proved to be an asset with her friendly and spontaneous nature and focus on client service.
She boasts many years of experience in various industries and her keen interest in the embroidery industry and knowledge of marketing soon proved to be a positive contribution to not only grow the original Elna store in Brakpan. She is creative, innovative, and goal-driven, and is able as managing director to also build on and develop the success of people around her.
